SVOGERSLEV KRO
A Danish inn dating back to 1727. The new identity had to sit comfortably inside timber-framed walls without feeling stuck in them.
Svogerslev Kro goes back to 1727, and the history is right there in the timber-framed walls. What happens inside now is held to a high standard, in the kitchen and in the room itself.
We took the colours straight from the building: a deep, traditional red, calmed down with chalky white and a muted black. For type, a modern sans serif keeps the body text clear, while a serif on the headings carries the older, classical note.
The one louder move is the drop caps – oversized, gothic-inspired, opening each section with a direct line back to the building's age. Everything else stays restrained, so they have room to land.
The identity is finished. Rolling it out is still in progress.
