EXTRA BRUT VINIMPORT
A low-intervention wine import. We gave them an identity with a classic base and room to loosen up.
Extra Brut Vinimport is a Danish importer of Champagne and German wine, all made without pesticides – biodynamic, organic and natural. We built the identity on a restrained base: deep green and white, with clean typography.
We drew two versions of the logotype. One is purely typographic, for flexibility; the other is more compact, framed by a hand-drawn muselet – the wire cage from a Champagne cork – so it still holds up small.
From there it opens up. The identity runs onto merch – sweatshirts, T-shirts, tote bags – and instead of the usual photography, we drew the winemakers by hand, which puts a face and a bit of warmth to the people behind the bottles.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF LABEL
We also redid the labels for the German producer Benzinger. The old ones were fairly traditional and didn't match the wines – or the person pouring them.
The new labels are lighter: pastel backgrounds, handwritten text, simple line drawings, including some loosely sketched female figures, somewhere between croquis studies and a quick idea that probably made sense at the time. The result is more approachable and a little irreverent – closer to how the wines actually get drunk: poured, talked about, and enjoyed without much ceremony.
