GARODKIN
GARODKIN is a menswear shop on Gammel Kongevej, going back to 1942. We built its Shopify webshop to feel like the shop itself.
Garodkin started in 1942 as a traditional menswear and tailoring shop, and has been part of Gammel Kongevej ever since. Under Nicolaj Franck Eriksen, it now carries a carefully chosen range – mostly Italian, with a few English and French makers alongside. The webshop runs on Shopify, but we customised it fully and shaped it around the feel of the physical store. The colours do a lot of the work: Garodkin's signature petroleum, balanced with crema bianca, and an accent that shifts through the year – warm ochre in winter, a soft pink borrowed from Italian sports papers in summer.
SMALL GESTURES, PERSONAL DETAILS
A handwritten script turns up in small places – newsletter headers, notes, the odd interface detail – a warmer, looser note against an otherwise clean layout. The image galleries end on a quiet joke, too: a sticky Italian word or phrase sits under the last image and changes at random each visit. Sometimes just “Fini.”
