AKADEMIRAADET
A digital presence shaped by history – carrying the legacy of Danish art into a contemporary framework
The Royal Academy of Fine Arts commissioned a new digital home to reflect its role as the state’s advisor on artistic matters. Through the Academy Council, the institution works to promote the arts, particularly within architecture, visual arts and related disciplines.
The assignment encompassed both UX and visual direction, ensuring that structure and expression supported the Academy’s institutional weight while remaining accessible and transparent.
Heritage as Foundation
Inspired by the nuanced tones of the Danish Golden Age, a restrained and luminous colour palette was developed. A responsive logotype and a carefully paired typographic system create rhythm and hierarchy across devices. The result is neither nostalgic nor overtly contemporary, but anchored – allowing tradition to breathe within a modern structure.
The platform frames the Academy’s work with clarity and quiet confidence, ensuring that its legacy remains present, relevant and alive.
