CHAMPAGNE PETIT CLERGOT

A restless young winemaker, pushing at the edges of Champagne – sometimes quietly, sometimes not.

Paul Bastian came back to the family farm in 2017 with no winery, no press, and a head full of ideas. The build was fast: first the facilities, then the first vintages, and a steady run of experiments since, all organic. He's restless, and his work tends to run a little ahead of the rules around it.

We worked with him on a cuvée that doesn't quite fit its category. Officially, it's a rosé. In practice, it's something else, and the label leans into that.

ROSÉ sits across it in bold black, large and unmissable. Behind it, ORANGE repeats in a camouflage pattern – loud, fluorescent, hard to ignore. Neon yellow and pink push it further, with a nod to the cover of Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols.

A small act of negotiation, perhaps. Or just a different way of telling the truth.
